MARINE ENGINEERING SYSTEMS
AUXILIARY SYSTEMS
Machinery, other than the main propulsion units, is usually called “auxiliaries” even though without some auxiliaries the main machinery would not be able to operate for any extended periods of time.
The auxiliary systems mostly consist of the following systems:
- Air Compressors
- Heat Exchanging
- Distillation and Freshwater Generation
- Oil and Water Separators
- Sewage Treatment Plants
