The provider and how to contact us
These terms apply to courses purchased through oceanstechnology.co.uk. The course provider is Oceans Technology Higher Education (Pty) Ltd, trading as Oceans Technology Higher Education. Our business contact address is Alkmaar Road, Sturrock Dock, Table Bay Harbour, Cape Town, South Africa, 8000. For course access, payments, privacy requests or complaints, email management@oceanstechnology.co.uk.
Oceans Technology is responsible for the course sale, delivery, support and resolving issues with your registration. Paystack provides payment processing. Coursebox provides the learning platform; these providers do not replace our responsibilities to you.
Before you register
Read the course description, curriculum, entry requirements and assessment information before purchasing. Only the materials and services listed for that course are included. Ask us before paying if a detail is important to your decision and is unclear.
Courses are educational. Unless a particular course expressly states otherwise with supporting details, purchasing or completing a course does not confer professional registration, accreditation, a regulated qualification or a guarantee of employment. A completion certificate is available only where the course expressly includes one and its stated completion requirements are met. Training is not a substitute for project-specific professional engineering advice or required supervision.
Registering and forming your agreement
Choose your course, review your basket, create or sign in to your website account, and check your billing details, course selection and final charge. You can change these details before placing the order. Website registration and these terms are provided in English; the course page identifies the learning language where supplied.
Use an email address you can access. Your website account records your registrations; the learning portal is a separate service and may require account activation or a separate sign-in. Do not share passwords or another person's course access.
Your registration is accepted when payment has been verified and we confirm your paid registration. An unpaid-order acknowledgement or an unverified payment screen is not confirmation of course access. If payment cannot be verified or a course cannot be supplied, we will investigate and provide the remedy required by law rather than treating an unavailable course as delivered.
The Coursebox User Agreement governs use of the learning platform. Review it and the Coursebox Privacy Policy using the links provided at checkout. Privacy notices explain processing; reading a notice is not blanket permission for unrelated marketing or data use.
Prices and the ZAR payment charge
Course prices on this website are in pounds sterling (GBP). Paystack processes the payment in South African rand (ZAR), not GBP. The basket and checkout disclose the GBP course amount, conversion rate, rate reference date and final ZAR amount before you pay. Review that final charge before submitting payment.
The conversion uses European Central Bank reference data. It is a reference rate, not a real-time trading quote or a promise of your bank's rate. The latest available business-day rate may be used over weekends or holidays. The website applies no additional exchange-rate markup. If the quote changes before purchase, review the updated total. The rate and ZAR amount recorded for an order are not subsequently recalculated using a newer market rate.
Your bank may convert the ZAR charge into your card account's currency and apply its own charges. The resulting amount may differ from the GBP catalogue price. We do not control your bank's exchange rate or fees. Any charges collected by this website must be disclosed in the checkout total before payment. These online courses do not incur a physical shipping charge.
Lifetime course access and delivery
A paid course purchased under this version of the terms includes lifetime access to that purchased course for the registered learner, without a recurring course-access subscription. It does not automatically include other courses, future separately priced qualifications, personal consulting or materials not included in the course description.
After verified payment, our system requests your enrolment in the Oceans Technology Coursebox portal. Follow the access or activation instructions sent to your registration email and use My Learning on the website. Automated enrolment can require additional checks; an order confirmation is not proof that your learning account has already been activated. If access has not arrived, check your email and spam folder and contact management@oceanstechnology.co.uk with your order reference. Do not pay again merely because an invitation is delayed.
We will not retrospectively replace the lifetime entitlement sold under these terms with a shorter access period merely because the offer changes for future customers. We may update or move the delivery platform, while preserving the purchased entitlement. If we cannot continue supplying a material part of the purchased service, your applicable legal remedies remain available.
You need an internet connection, a current supported web browser, an accessible email account and a device capable of displaying the course materials. Downloadable study guides or course packs are included only where listed. Contact us before registration about specific compatibility or accessibility requirements.
Using the learning materials
Course materials and access are licensed for the registered learner's authorised study. Do not resell, publicly distribute, copy for redistribution or share access to protected materials unless authorised or permitted by law. Follow course assessment rules and do not impersonate another learner or attempt unauthorised access to the site or portal.
Coursebox may provide AI-assisted learning or assessment features. Follow the notices and requirements shown within the course and ask us if you need clarification about an assessment result. Do not upload confidential project information or information about other people unless you have the necessary authority.
Cancellations, refunds and complaints
Our Cancellation and Refund Policy forms part of these terms. We do not offer a separate voluntary change-of-mind refund outside mandatory consumer rights. Nothing in these terms removes a cooling-off right or a remedy for faulty, unavailable or misdescribed content where the law provides one.
We do not treat payment, receipt of an invitation, logging in or acceptance of general terms as an automatic waiver of cancellation rights. No cancellation-rights waiver is recorded by this version of the checkout. Any future early-supply waiver process must separately explain and record the legally required request and acknowledgement.
Email management@oceanstechnology.co.uk with your course, order reference and request. Do not send passwords, full card numbers or security codes. Our complaints process does not prevent you from using an applicable regulator, consumer body, card dispute process or court.
Changes, security and the applicable terms
We may make reasonable course and platform updates and take proportionate action for security, suspected fraud or serious misuse. Such action does not remove mandatory consumer rights or permit an unfair reduction of the purchased service. Where practicable, we will explain an access restriction and how to request a review.
The policy version recorded with your order applies to that purchase. Later changes do not retrospectively reduce existing contractual or statutory rights. South African law applies to the extent permitted, without excluding mandatory protections that apply to a consumer in another jurisdiction. No term excludes liability or a remedy where the law does not allow that exclusion.
